How time flies!
Sorry, it's another mini milestone that I need to put on record for my own future reference and the reason for this blog post.
Looking back, I remembered that writing my first 100 posts was both fulfilling (and, at times, frustrating too).
Writing my next 100th-200th posts was a lot more enjoyable because of the motivation I received from my readers and support group.
And finally, between writing my 200th-300th posts, I'm beginning to get some form of 'small' recognition for which I'm grateful.
I was also lucky enough to be selected by a new mobile food application (that has yet to launch in Malaysia) to submit my already written food reviews (I'm still submitting my past reviews to them as of now). So, what started out as a pastime has turned into a little 'extra income' project! ;-)
I'm also appreciative to have received invites from existing dining guides though I've not accepted any so far! I'm not into those invited group reviews...it's just not my thing (I prefer to dine with people I know...but if I receive a personal one-on-one invitation, wakakaka....who knows, I may consider). Then again, I'm not 'famous' enough (and never will) to receive such invitations from restaurants....hee...hee)!
Anyway, thank you just the same for the invites.
And, most recently, I was fortunate enough to be approached by yet another international online and mobile restaurant discovery guide (that has launched recently in Malaysia) to post my reviews on their site...I wonder if I should as I've not posted on any dining websites before.
With these approaches, as well as restaurants considering my posts worthy enough to be posted on their Facebook pages and websites, it gives me motivation to know that what I write is (at least) of interest to someone out there. Just the thought that my food posts catches someone's eye is reward enough for me.
At the end of the day, my blog was created solely for my personal 'jalan jalan cari makan' food escapades to document (and share) my day to day food journey.....although a little 'pocket change' along the way was 'icing on the cake' :D
Blogging (and blog hopping, even kept at the bare minimum) has been rather time consuming leaving me with little time to pursue anything else......but I wouldn't have it any other way as the experience has been rewarding...in more ways than one!

You're a food blog, why all those flowers and trees? You should make a collage of your past food adventures!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if it doesn't affect your values, just go for it. I can understand your aversion to paid food review sessions, but writing for foodie guide websites should be fine I guess..
Aiyah, I was trying to make them look like 'thank you' cards! ;D Who would want a card that has my already posted food pics...so boring. Plus, I love flowers....they're so pretty and sweet!
DeleteAnd yeah, I'm fine with re-writing my already written food posts for foodie guide websites too.
Awesome and congratulations babe.. keep up the good blog!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ciki, for your kind words. Appreciate it!
DeleteWell done! Here's to many more blog anniversaries to come! I think you should go ahead and post your reviews on that international online and mobile restaurant discovery guide. I mean, why not?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support and advice, Phong Hong. I'll think about it....like you said...why not? ;)
