Brewyard @ Subang Jaya

After our late lunch at Flingstones, we proceeded to our next pit stop...Brewyard Cafe @ Subang Jaya for more coffee....and more chit-chat, of course.

Brewyard is on the list of Top 10 Hipster Cafes in the Klang Valley by TallyPress.  It has become one of those trending cafés visited by the hip-and-young crowd in the area to chill and hangout over a nice cup of joe.

Its menu spans from an all day breakfast to pastas, pizzas, cakes and desserts.  Choice of drinks include coffee, tea, chocolaty drinks, smoothies and bottled cider.  They also serve delectable home-made cakes and I spotted these that day...Oreo Cheese, Hershey's Chocolate, Milo Dinasaur, The King (banana cake with chocolate), The Lady (earl grey cake with lychee) and their famous signature Chocolate Nutella Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream.

The cakes all look so good, I wished we had stomach space for it but, feeling already 'fulfilled' from our other venue earlier, we had to settle for just a round of coffee.  We basically zeroed in on the drinks that had an (F) on it.....which I assumed meant 'Favourite' ;p

This is the Mocreo @ RM14 which is a combination of mocha and oreo.  If your favourite 3 things in this world are coffee, chocolate and oreos, then this drink is made for you.  It was rich and chocolaty....much like a rich chocolate and oreo smoothie...and served in a tall glass with a pretty heart....sweet!

This is another of their best sellers....the Salted Nutella Latte @ RM12.  The coffee had a savoury-sweet taste to it and was prettily presented! :)

The usual Flat White @ RM10

A friend who didn't want too much coffee in her system went for the Lemongrass & Ginger Tea @ RM8.  It wasn't what we expected as it came in a sachet...we thought it would be a brew of fresh lemongrass and ginger...my bad! :(  But I'm liking the purple polka dot tea cup and saucer though.

There's a section on the menu for dessert lovers aptly named Sugar Rush, of course.  On offer are desserts with quirky names like Little Lost Ship (pancakes with bananas, peanut butter, jam, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and peanut brittle), Gone Mars Bar (deep fried mars bar with vanilla ice cream) and Salted Care-uh-mel Pancake (pancakes with salted caramel sauce, bacon bits and vanilla ice cream).

Probably the more famous ones would be their Nutella Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream and their BY (BrewYard) Waffle @ RM16 which we couldn't resist ordering.  The waffle was served with two scoops of home-made ice cream (nutella and oreo), fruits (strawberries and bananas), peanut brittles and nutella sauce...and topped with an oreo cookie.

The waffle was crispy and fluffy and the home-made ice cream was delightful, especially the vanilla one with the added texture of crushed oreos.  I enjoyed the oreo ice cream more as it was less sweet compared to the nutella one.  Everything together...the fluffiness of the waffle, the sweetness of the ice cream, the slight tartness of the strawberries and the crunch of the crushed nuts and almonds....all worked in unison to create an oh-so-yummy bite!

My Personal Opinion

With an abundant clientele of students (from nearby colleges) in the area, this coffee place will continue to be a preferred hangout for the young and trendy looking for a place to chill.

So, come on over.....something is always brewing at Brewyard (for your drinking pleasure).  Or, if you need a 'sugar rush'....you know where to go! ;)

  1. Not into things so sweet these days unless there are two or three others to share with. Seems to be the trend these days, the very messy presentation - we get it here too at the classy coffee places.

  7. Ah, you did not try their cakes but you have space for ice cream and waffles. So what is the difference between the waffles and ice cream here compared to the one in Midvalley? Which one tastes better?

    1. If you mean Madame Waffle, those are Liege waffles which are denser and chewier, so they're quite different from the ones here which are lighter and crispier (probably American waffles).
