Love is in the air.....

Love is in the air, everywhere I look around.....no, no, no...this is not quite the lovey-dovey post you're hoping for....and neither is it my recipe for chocolate heart-shaped cup cakes!! :D

If you have nobody to love *sobs* this Valentine's Day.....love your heart!  Coincidental that this post should come out just before Valentine's Day, isn't it?  Ok, ok, I confess....I purposely scheduled this post to appear, but not because it's Valentine's, but because it's before Chinese New Year as I know all of you would be over-indulging in your many festive "makan" (eats)...sorry to be a 'party pooper', I was just concerned for your health....kekeke!!  But, hey.....my intentions are good but my timing sucks!! :D

Many of us would try to incorporate oats into our daily lives as we are all too aware of the immense benefits one can derive from eating oats.  There are many different types (and brands) in the market from regular to quick cook to instant oats to even flavoured ones.

First...you had to cook them.....nope, too lazy to do so + it tastes horrible :(

Next....they came up with instant and powder form versions, those that you can mix into a drink (or with water)....no can do, it still tastes awful =(

Finally, it's now available in a ready-to-eat crispy cereal form....and I was like...ok, now I'll eat it...it's so convenient!! :D

What am I talking about?  It's the.......Biogrow Oat BG22!  I think it's been on the market for quite a while now.

I'm not going to bore you with all the details of its benefits and how good it is for you, you can read about it from the many sources online.

For those who have not had it before, this is how it looks like on the inside.  It comes in a box of 12 individual packets and retails at around RM59.90 per box.

And each individual packet contains 3g of beta-gluten which is the recommended daily dose to help reduce cholesterol.

The back of the packet gives you all the nutritional information you'll need or want to know.

I loved that they made it into cute heart-shaped cereals...I guess it's their way of asking us to "love our hearts", I suppose.

Taste wise....it's just crispy and have no taste at all (which is good).  Although I don't go round ensuring I take a packet a day for the recommended daily dose, I do snack on them as and when I like...in between meals, while watching TV...in fact, I'm snacking on them right now while writing this post.

I think it's better to take these crispy cereals than the oat bran powder version since I heard it causes diarrhea for some people....well, we can't have that!

So, for those of you who 'hate' the taste of oats but need (or want) to eat it for health reasons, you now have a version that you can easily consume!  Props to Biogrow for coming up with an ingenious product (at least to me)....now I too can 'swallow' this without hating the taste! :D

So, here's a crispy *heart" from me to you......

.......but should you find yourself 'dateless and alone' this Saturday, go get yourself some nice heart-shaped chocolates...kekeke....chocolate makes everything better!!

P/S:  And nope...I didn't get any free samples for this post (of the crispy cereals, I mean)!

  1. I have seen this Biogrow Oat BG22 at the pharmacies and nope I didn't go anywhere near it hah..hah... Since it is crispy (but tasteless), then it should be easier to eat. I do remember those days when I tried to incorporate oats into my diet. I did not keep up with it for too long because it was such a torture to eat!

    1. It is a torture to eat oats but these (tasteless) ones are way easier to incorporate into our diet :)

  2. Oh crap, it's on Saturday?? Then this weekend would be the mother of all traffic jams!! >.<

RM59.90 sounds like too steep for me, I guess I'll just stick to my oats with milk..

    1. With prices being so expensive this year, maybe there won't be any traffic jams at all :D

When things are convenient, they aren't cheap but as long as you have oats in your diet, it's ok...no matter in what form!

  3. I love oats. Oat cookies are very nice too...and oats in cereal prawns, lovely change from the overrated butter prawns.

    1. For it to work, you have to persistently eat it on a daily basis...I've seen on forums that it does work. But I don't think I'll persevere...I eat every now and then only (but, at least, I'm eating some oats)!
