9 Places for a Hunk, a Hunk of Charring Meat

Are you a hunk, a hunk of burning love (aka Elvis) fan?  Well, I'm more of a hunk, a hunk of charring meat fan...hehe! :P  What can be more seductive than a piece of flame-kissed or heat-seared meat turning it into the most beautiful, scrumptious and succulent piece of pleasure...period.  And here are just some places where you can get exactly that.

Just know that whatever meat you choose, be it the charcoal-grilled Angus Ribeye, Angus Tenderloin, Chilled Lamb Loin or Free-Range Chicken, immense satisfaction awaits as 'Bertha' will take good care of you here.

But even more satisfying was the slow braised Charcoal Oven Smoked Roasted Beef that sealed in the sensational flavours and natural juices that proved irresistibly moreish! ^o^

Steaks & Lobsters @ Desa Sri Hartamas

The Wagyu Ribeye is a show stealer alright with its drool-worthy naturally good flavoured meat coupled with a texture that's supremely tender and moist. ^.^

The Wagyu Round Sirloin may be less expensive but that doesn't necessarily mean it deserves any less love as it's still sufficiently marbled and well-flavoured.

From the more expensive cuts of Wagyu Rump, Sirloin and Tenderloin.....

...to the cheaper cuts of Australian Beef Ribs Steak to Sirloin Steak, you won't be disappointed with any cut here that's expertly teppanyaki-seared to the right sumptuousness! ^_*

Iberico Kitchen @ Ara Damansara

Their signature Honey Glazed Iberico Spare Ribs will have you licking your lips.....and your fingers too!

I remember the lovely caramelisation on the well marbled, full flavoured ribs with much fondness.

Get yourself a bound-to-please Big Bonfire Platter that's share-tisfaction guaranteed!  Your choices include Wagyu skirt steak, whole red snapper, squid two ways, rack of lamb, glazed beef short ribs or baby spring chicken.

Burger & Sushi @ G Village, Desa Pandan

This is one Japanese restaurant that serves good steaks too.  Take your pick of Australian sirloin, ribeye or wagyu and you're in for a treat.  Choose to eat it naked or with their delicious house-made brown sauce...either way it's equally pleasurable.

Maria's SteakCafe @ Bangsar

The well executed Chilled Black Angus, with a gorgeous sear and attractive char at the edges, seals in that succulent flavour.

It's not all about the steaks...how about a meaty soup?  The Oxtail Soup with its delicious and thick consistency is a crowd favourite too.

For those who takes pleasure in grilling their own meat and eating at their own pace, this is the spot for you if you want some delicious and good quality grilled meat.

A standout was the Supreme Ox Tongue (that's so yum)...eaten with a harmoniously balanced dip of garlic, soy, miso and chillies.

2nd Floor Kitchen & Bar @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail

This slab of wondrously charred Grilled Iberico Pork will leave you in awe.

If not, a lusciously pinkish and juicy Seared Duck Breast will do the job too.

With Christmas and the year end festivities descending upon us soon, you may just want to consider some of these options for deliciously charred-to-perfection meat (be it beef, pork, lamb, chicken or duck), there's one for every man, woman or taste bud.  Enjoy your meat-tastic feast! ^_~

  1. When I read your post title, the word "hunk' immediately brought to mind calendars with muscular bomba guys wahahahaha!! Anyway, at my age, I prefer the hunks that you are talking about. I haven't made it to Iberico Kitchen as yet (goodness!) but will start off with 2nd Floor Kitchen & Bar. Hopefully very soon :)

    2. PS... for some reason I've got the Elvis song in my head "hunk of burning love" but having substituted the words "hunk of charring meat" ;-)

  3. They are all so delicious and yummy looking. I could imagine the fragrance too. I seldom eat beef because my wife is allergic to beef while I love good oxtail soups too. I like the food at Maria's. She is a beautiful lady & actually a distant relative of mine and the very closest friend of Michelle Yeoh.

    1. Oh, I didn't know that. But it wouldn't be a surprise since they're both Ipoh girls (I think the Ipoh branch is her first outlet).

    2. Yes her Ipoh branch is the first and Bangsar's outlet doing the best.
It was news in early 90s when Bond Gal married HKG's Dickson Poon and Maria's luxurious villa opposite the Istana was the bride's venue.

    3. Somehow, the ambience of the Bangsar outlet seems better :)

  4. Nice list! I’m in agreement with quite a few of them, including your first choice :D and I bet you’ll find a place in the next few months to round your list to 10! ;)

    1. I'd probably find another 9 in the next few months...hehe! ;D Ha, I see you like the first one...though that pick doesn't necessarily mean it's my first choice as they're listed in no particular order. It's difficult to rank which ones I prefer more, it really depends which one I feel like eating on a particular day :)
